No two creative journeys are the same.
Some of us are just beginning. Some are returning to creativity after years away. Others are developing an established practice and wondering what comes next. And sometimes it is not our creativity or ability that holds us back, but confidence, self-doubt, limiting beliefs or the fear of taking the next step.
At HeARTlands, we believe knowledge, experience and encouragement are most valuable when they are shared.
Informal mentoring, encouragement and peer support happen naturally within our free Creative Community and monthly Gatherings. Members share experiences, knowledge, skills, opportunities and industry insights, supporting and learning from one another along the way.
Alongside this informal community support, members of the HeARTlands community also offer professional one-to-one mentoring and coaching services for those who would like more individualised support.
Experienced and established artists are available to mentor emerging and developing artists, sharing practical knowledge gained through their own creative and professional journeys.
Mentoring can support areas such as developing your creative practice, preparing for exhibitions, building a portfolio, presenting and pricing your work, commissions, working with galleries, developing confidence as an exhibiting artist and navigating the practical realities of building a sustainable creative practice.
Our mentors are not here to tell you what kind of artist you should become.
They are here to share what they have learned while helping you find confidence in your own creative voice and direction.
Creative Coaching provides space to explore where you are, where you would like to go and what might help you get there.
It can support you in developing ideas, finding greater clarity and direction, setting creative goals, making space for your practice, moving a project forward or navigating periods when you feel creatively uncertain or stuck.
Sometimes having someone alongside us — asking thoughtful questions, listening and helping us see possibilities differently — is enough to help us begin moving again.
Behind every creative practice is a person.
Sometimes it isn't a lack of talent, creativity or ideas that prevents us from moving forward. Low confidence, diminished self-esteem, limiting beliefs, procrastination, comparison, fear of failure and self-doubt can all dull the creative spark within us.
Personal Development Coaching provides a supportive space to explore these barriers, strengthen confidence and self-belief, recognise patterns that may be holding you back and identify meaningful, achievable ways forward.
We believe creativity belongs to everyone.
Sometimes the spark within us becomes quiet beneath the weight of life's experiences. We don't believe it disappears. Sometimes it simply needs encouragement, a nurturing space to ignite and a reason to shine again.
Whether through mentoring, creative coaching or personal development coaching, the HeARTlands approach is grounded in respect for each person's individual journey.
There is no single route to becoming an artist, developing a creative life or finding your way forward.
A mentor can share experience.
A coach can help you ask different questions.
Both can offer encouragement, perspective and support.
But the path remains yours.
We don't walk it for you. Sometimes we simply walk beside you for part of the journey.
We're delighted to offer this directory of support options for artists. Everyone listed here is part of our monthly meet-ups and offers dedicated 1:1 support. Contact them directly to discuss their services and fees.
Another option is the informal coaching and mentoring that happens naturally through chatting at our free Creative Community grt togethers to which you are invited. Find out more here.
If you've attended one of our meet-ups and offer coaching or mentoring yourself, get in touch and we'll add you to the list.
